Shoulder Bursitis

Shoulder bursitis occurs when the fluid-filled sac that cushions the shoulder joint becomes irritated, leading to pain and swelling—often worsened by overhead activity, lifting, or reaching. It may develop gradually from repetitive use or follow a fall or other injury. While rest, ice, and anti-inflammatory measures can reduce symptoms, bursitis often persists when underlying movement imbalance or tissue strain is not addressed.

At The Essential Healing Center, we recognize that shoulder bursitis is rarely an isolated problem. Shoulder function depends on coordinated movement of connective tissue, circulation, nerves, posture, and rib and spine mobility. Through a comprehensive, hands-on osteopathic evaluation, we identify contributing patterns beyond the bursa itself. Care is focused on reducing unnecessary tissue tension, supporting healthy circulation, and restoring balanced movement to improve comfort, mobility, and shoulder resilience over time.
