Thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS) occurs when nerves and blood vessels traveling from the neck into the arm become compressed near the collarbone and first rib. Symptoms may include numbness, tingling, pain, weakness, arm fatigue, swelling, or temperature or color changes in the hand, often worsening with certain positions or activities. Because these symptoms overlap with other neck and shoulder conditions, TOS can be difficult to identify.
At The Essential Healing Center, we take a whole-body, hands-on approach to TOS. Rather than focusing on a single structure, we evaluate how the collarbone, ribs, neck, shoulder, connective tissue, circulation, and nerve pathways are working together. Gentle osteopathic care is directed toward improving tissue mobility, supporting circulation and drainage, and reducing unnecessary tension—helping relieve strain on affected structures and restore more comfortable, functional movement over time.
